Chagall Liked Roses

Chagall was a prolific artist who was influenced by two of my favorite artists, Matisse and Picasso. While I've always paid attention to his works, I've never absolutely been smitten by them. Now that I'm interested in painting roses, however, I'm not sure who painted more roses than Marc Chagall. I like how loose his style is, how playful it is, so cheery, so inexact, so spiritual, so light and positive, so experimental, so jovial.

Some of my favorite rose paintings of Chagall's are below, beginning with my very favorite one of all:

This next one, because I love bouquet paintings that have windows in the background, which Chagall does frequently:

This one I include since I'm an ink brush-stroke artist:

I am amazed how he keeps changing his styles and mediums. He is totally uninhibited.

And then a very ethereal impressionistic watercolor...

And at the end I'm adding this fruit, because I like to paint fruit, too.
